Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are known to cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)..

210 Countries and Territories around the world have reported a total of 2,482,577 confirmed cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 that originated from Wuhan, China, and a death toll of 170,484 deaths.

In pakistan::

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic was confirmed to have reached Pakistan in February 2020. As of 21 April 2020, the number of confirmed cases in the country is over 9,200, with 2,066 recoveries and 192 deaths. Punjab is currently the province with highest number of cases at over 3,700.^[1] The country has been put under a nation-wide lockdown until 30 April,^[2] which was initiated on 1 April and later extended.^[3]

According to a report by the federal government, Pakistan could expect 50,000 cases of disease by 25 April.^[4][5][6] A Tablighi Jamaat religious congregation which took place in Lahore in early March 2020 became a coronavirus super-spreader across the country.^[7]
